Osamu Motojima, Trustee and Executive Advisor to the President, awarded Legion of Honour(Chevalier)from France
On April 13th, Chubu University Educational Corporation Trustee and Executive Advisor to the President, Osamu Motojima, was named Chevalier of the Legion of Honour, as ordered by the President of France. The award was conferred by Philippe Setton, French Ambassador to Japan.
Motojima was a member of the National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology (ITER) Council since , and served as the 2nd Director-General of the ITER Organization from to He was recognized for his scientific and technical expertise, humanity, and leadership skills, including his leadership of the initial stages of the construction of the ITER facility in Saint-Paul-les-Durance, a commune in southeastern France.
Since , he has worked for Franco-Japanese cooperation in the field of nuclear fusion as Director-General Emeritus of the ITER Council.
